Changing a Portfolio's Type

Use this article to learn how to change the type for a selected portfolio in the PORTFOLIOS module. When you change a portfolio's type, the list of fields also changes to reflect the new type. If the new and old portfolio types have common fields, they will remain, and the rest will be removed. However, the fields and data will remain intact so that in case you revert the portfolio's type to its original type, the fields (and data) are restored.

Before you begin

• Make sure you have set up the following module settings for the Portfolio module under Xyicon Settings ( ): Portfolio Types, Portfolio Fields, and Portfolio Layouts.
• Verify your Xyicon User has the necessary permissions to change a portfolio type. 

Module settings and user permissions are managed by your organization's Xyicon Administrator.

Steps

1. Go to Main Menu ( ) > PORTFOLIOS module to view the portfolios.
2. Select the portfolio for which you want to change the portfolio type.
3. Click the Side Panel > Details tab ( ) and click the Type field to see the list of available portfolio types. Alternatively, you can click on its Portfolio Type in the table itself to do the same. If Portfolio Type Column is not visible, you can change your view or add the column to your current view.
4. Select the desired type from the dropdown. You will be prompted to confirm the action.
5. Click Change.
