Managing Fields in Sections

Use this article to learn how to manage fields within sections in Layouts. After adding fields to the sections, you can rearrange them based on your business needs.

Before you begin

• Ensure you have created fields in the module.
• Ensure that you have added sections in layouts.
• Only Xyicon Administrator can assign fields to sections in layouts.

Removing Fields from a Section

1. In Settings ( ), navigate to the desired module from Modules and go to the Layouts tab.
2. Use the drag icon ( ) to drag the fields from the relevant layout section and drop them into the Available Fields.
3. Save the layout to ensure the changes are applied.
   Once you unassign the fields from the section, they will no longer appear in the details tab for the assigned object types.

Setting Fields to Full Width

Setting fields to full width in the layout enables the field to occupy the entire width of the details tab. This feature particularly benefits long text fields, such as notes, as it enhances readability.

1. In Settings ( ), navigate to the desired module from Modules and go to the Layouts tab.
2. Hover over the relevant field that you want to apply the full width from the available sections, to find the Full width toggle button.
3. Click the toggle to enable full width for the selected field.
4. Once you set the fields to full width, save the layout to ensure that the changes are applied.

Rearranging Fields Inside a Section

After adding fields to a section under layouts, you can rearrange them in the preferred order.

1. In Settings ( ), navigate to the desired module from Modules and go to the Layouts tab.
2. In the relevant section, you can rearrange the available fields by dragging and dropping them into the appropriate place using the drag icon ( ).
3. Once you rearrange the fields in the section, save the layout to ensure that the changes are applied.
