# Rotating a Xyicon
Xyicon Users
Use this article to learn how to rotate a xyicon on the space. You can rotate a xyicon by using the **Rotate** button ( ) of the xyicon in the **Space Editor** or by changing the xyicon's rotation property.
## Before you begin
Make sure that your **Xyicon User** has the necessary permissions to view and update xyicons. User Permissions are managed by your organization's **Xyicon Administrator**.

## Method 1 - Rotate a Xyicon using the Rotate button
1. Select one or more xyicons you wish to rotate.
2. Click the **Rotate** button ( ) on the **Action Bar** for the xyicon(s).
3. Grab the rotate handle and turn the xyicons until it is in the desired position.
## Method 2 - Rotate a Xyicon by Changing the Xyicon's Rotation Property
1. Select one or more xyicons you wish to rotate.
2. On the **Side Panel > Details** tab ( ), scroll down to the **Properties** section.
3. Under Rotation, click on the field labeled **Z** and update the value as needed.
4. Select the checkmark ( ) next to the field to save the changes. You can also press the **Tab** key or click outside the field to do the same.
