# Deleting a Xyicon
Xyicon Users
Use this activity to learn how to delete a xyicon from Xyicon permanently.
**CAUTION:** When you delete a xyicon, all its details are permanently removed from the organization, and this action cannot be undone. If you want to remove a xyicon from a space temporarily, unplot the xyicon instead of deleting it. Unplotting a xyicon only removes associated data such as ports and links.
## Before you begin
Make sure that your **Xyicon User** has the necessary permissions to delete xyicons. User Permissions are managed by your organization's **Xyicon Administrator**.

## Steps
1. Go to **Main Menu** ( ) > **XYICONS**. The **XYICONS** module lists all available xyicons for your active portfolio.
2. Select the checkboxes against the xyicons you want to delete.**TIP:** If the xyicon you want to delete is not visible, check that you are on the correct **View**.
3. Click the **Delete** button ( ) on the **Action Bar**. You will be prompted to confirm the number of xyicons to be deleted.
4. Click **Yes** to delete.
