Geo Location Field Type

Use this article to learn how to use the Geo Location field type.

Before you begin

• Only Xyicon Administrator can create fields. 

Use this field type to input coordinates in the form of latitude and longitude. There are no additional properties for it. The user-facing field will have two inputs, one for latitude and one for longitude. Both of them will only accept numbers including decimals. This data type restriction helps reduce errors during data input.

Steps to Create a Geo Location Type of Field

1. On the Xyicon Header, click the Settings () button.
2. Under Settings, click on the desired Module.
3. Click on the Fields Tab.
4. Click on (+) Create to create a new field.
5. In the Create New Field Panel that opens, give a name for your field.
6. Click on the drop-down in front of Field Type and select Geo Location.
7. Optionally, turn on Display On Links, provide a Field Description, and add Helper Text as needed.
8. Click Create to create your new field.
