IP Field Type

Use this article to learn how to use the IP field type.

Before you begin

• Only Xyicon Administrator can create fields. 

Use this field type to input IP addresses. In addition to the common properties, this field type has an additional property - IP Version – to select between IP address version 4 and version 6.

Steps to Create an IP Type of Field

1. On the Xyicon Header, click the Settings () button.
2. Under Settings, click on the desired Module.
3. Click on the Fields Tab.
4. Click on (+) Create to create a new field.
5. In the Create New Field Panel that opens, give a name for your field.
6. Click on the drop-down in front of Field Type and select IP.
7. Select either IPv4 or IPv6 from the drop-down in front of the IP Version property.
8. Optionally, turn on Display On Links, provide a Field Description, and add Helper Text as needed.
9. Click Create to create your new field.
