Xyicon Administrators
Use this article to learn how to create a Permission Set.
Before you begin
- Ensure you have set up types and fields for Portfolios, Spaces, Boundaries, and Xyicons under Settings ( ).
- Only Xyicon Administrator can create permission sets.
TIP: As a Xyicon Administrator, ensure you have created at least one portfolio with types and fields to share with another Xyicon User.
Step 1 - Create a Permission Set
- On the header, click Settings ( ).
- Click Permission Sets under Permissions from the side panel.
- Click the Create button ( ) on the action bar.
Step 2 - Assign Permission Levels
Once you create the permission set, you can assign relevant permission levels for the Portfolios, Spaces, Boundaries, and Xyicons.
- Use the slider to select the General permissions level under Portfolios.
You can allow users to View, Update, or Delete the portfolios. - Assign the relevant permission levels for the relevant portfolio fields under Field Permissions. You can use the Find( ) to search for a specific field.
You can set the permissions as Hide, Read Only, and Write for relevant portfolio fields.- Hide - Users will not be able to see the relevant field.
- Read Only - Users will be able to see the field but unable to edit it.
- Write - Users will be able to see the field and also be able to edit it.
- Next, go to the Spaces tab.
- Use the toggle bar to enable or disable the Spaces module.TIP: When the Spaces module is disabled, users assigned to this permission set cannot see the available spaces.
- Assign the appropriate type and field permissions under the spaces module.
- Use the slider to select the Type permissions level as Hide, Show, Update, or Delete for appropriate types.
- Use the slider to select the Field Permissions levels as Hide, Read Only, or Write for appropriate fields.
- Repeat the steps 4 and 5 to assign the permissions to Boundaries and Xyicons.
