Set Scale

The scale of your space is essential for accurately displaying xyicons and boundaries, setting their proportions relative to the space, and determining how they will appear in the Space Editor.

You can set the scale when creating the space, but if you need to adjust it afterward, use Set Scale under Settings in the Space Editor.

Before you begin

Make sure your Xyicon User has the necessary permissions to access the Space Editor. User permissions are managed by your organization's Xyicon Administrator.

Steps

1. Navigate to the Spaces module and double-click on your space to open it in the Space Editor.

2. Click the Settings icon in the bottom-right corner of the Space Editor.

3. From the menu, choose Set Scale. This will enter you into the drawing mode.

   TIP: When you enter drawing mode, your cursor will change to a crosshair.

4. Align the crosshair cursor on one end of your chosen reference point (Point A). Click, hold, and drag to draw a line to the other end of the reference point (Point B). Release the mouse button to complete the action.

5. Enter the distance between Points A and B and select the appropriate measurement unit (e.g., inches).

   TIP: An example of a good reference point is a doorway, which generally has a standard measurement.
