Assigning Fields

Use this article to learn how to assign Fields to Types.

After creating Types and Fields, you can allocate these Fields to one or more Types within the module.

Before you begin

• Only Xyicon Administrator can assign Fields to Types in Portfolio, Space, Catalog, Xyicon, and Boundary modules.
• Ensure that you have created at least one type and one field to assign them.

Option 1 - Assigning Fields from the Fields Tab

1. On the header, click Settings ( ).
2. Navigate to the desired module from the Modules section.
3. Go to the Fields tab and click on the relevant field that you want to assign.
4. In the side panel Details ( ) tab under the Assigned Types section, you will see the available Types.
5. Use the slider to assign or unassign the field for the relevant types.
6. Clicking on the Assigned or Unassigned buttons allows you to assign or unassign the field for all types simultaneously.

Option 2 - Assigning Fields from the Types Tab

1. On the header, click Settings ( ).
2. Navigate to the desired module from the Modules section.
3. Go to the Types tab and click on the relevant type that you want to assign.
4. In the side panel Details ( ) tab under the Assigned Fields section, you will see the available Fields.
5. Use the slider to assign or unassign the type for the relevant fields.
6. Clicking on the Assigned or Unassigned buttons allows you to assign or unassign the type for all fields simultaneously.
